Just thought I'd add, I'm running nvidia drivers version 190.18 and the latest version of XBMC-svn just fine.
I didn't install the latest version of the nvidia-beta drivers because I read of this issue, and didn't want to risk running into it.
I edited the PKGBUILD manually to build the 22528 revision (about an hour before it was updated officially, haha), but it should be entirely the same package.
I haven't run into any issues with this revision, it's been pretty smooth.

That's the weird thing - i run all my three boxes on 22528 since yesterday - no problems whatsoever. As you mentioned the new package only has a bumped revision number and smbclient in its dependencies (needed since a few revs).
@Padu: That doesn't make sense If 22510 does not work, there's no point in trying out 22512. Anyway, big thanks for all your testing. I will see what happened between 22470 and 22510. As you get immediate (worthless) segfaults this is really hard to track down. Please tell me a bit more about your systems?! Do you all run on 64bit? My machines are all 32bit, so maybe there's the problem...

Downgraded the package to 22473 as requested. NOTE: There's no 22470 in linuxport - 22473 is the closest to your working revision, Padu - please give it a try.

Hello!
Works nicely on 32bit (I gave up on 64bit) except it doesn't play cd/dvd and I get "please insert disc" error. DVD and CD play fine with VLC. Tried downloading libcdio to 0.78 version as suggested somewhere and it didn't work.
Please, someone tell me it isn't possible yet so I can stop editing configuration files and do something more fun!
Or tell me how to do it...Please! :-)

I had the same problem. You have to downgrade the libcdio (I am using version 0.80-2) and you have to recompile XBMC (I did it using abs + makepkg).
I have also tried xbmc-svn but I was experiencing the issue with slow image loading (libjpeg7)
Hope it helps.

I'd just like to say thanks for maintaing this PKGBUILD! Apart from the libjpeg7 slowness, it's working perfectly, VDPAU included.

Oh, I see, it's undergoing some meddling at the moment. Maybe I'll read up on abs and see if I can't fix it. Or, more likely, break it more. It's a shame that none of these programs (xbmc, xbmc-svn, boxee and boxee source) seem to be quite right yet, because they are very cool programs potentially. I mean, xbmc has Simpsons TV(!!!) for crying out loud!
Thanks for the tips!

I am trying to compile xbmc-svn and it fails on goom, before i did just repeate makepkg command and worked but now it wont... doing it with "sudo makepkg --asroot -s",first ofcourse i downloaded all files from AUR regarding xbmc-svn.
Is there any workarround for goom now?`?

you have to compile twice..... The second time it should work

I decided to give another try to svn...
So far so good with xbmc-svn and transparency! skin. Looks perfect! Works SLOWLY! Huge issues with libjpeg7...
It's strange because in every pc I try with xbmc 9.04.1 doesn't suffer from this issue. Libjpeg7 is slow only on svn versions. With this skin... it look's like a old pentium MMX working.... 2 seconds while changing movies cover and no animation at all.

If anyone here has a PKGBUILD that's working with libjpeg6 I guess a bunch of us would be really happy if you posted it here.

32 bit package built against libjpeg6 http://hotfile.com/dl/13546051/021f9c9/ … ar.gz.html
Needs to have libjpeg6 installed either from AUR or roll back your libjpeg and its dependancies. Works either way. Can have both libjpeg6 from AUR and libjpeg7 installed.

Can I edit the PKGBUIILD so that it's possible to create a package of the latest svn checkout to use with pacman?
If so how do I manage, I tried to change the version of the svn revision but then using makepkg there's no svn checkout happening and the build fails..
I should i just compile by hand and do a make-install ?
(i prefer pacman packages however.
Thanks in advance for explaining..
