This thread has become little more than an invite thread and it's against the forum rules. All of us here at Arch want Linux gaming to succeed, so if there are any questions or problems about the game itself, this is a good place for it. Let's stop with the give me an invite or I have some left stuff.

Hmm... I was under the impression I should post questions on the game itself on their forums.
Okay then, how many of you have already purchased the game? Does it really make a difference for linux support, since the account is generic? Or is there some place where you specify that "I play this under Linux".

if they're interested in it, i guess they could just ask their servers how many linux users are online.
but it seems like s2games releases win/mac/linux versions of all their games anyways
Anyone tried this on antique hardware like FX 5200? Don't want to bother with cleaning up the HDD and getting a CD KEY if it won't run...
you need at least OpenGL 2.0, the FX5200 only has 1.2 iirc

Nah, it runs... And according to their web site it supports FX5200
It is fine... sort of... My system is below the minimum system requirements (only 512 ram and the other components are at the minimum) and in 5v5 battles or some graphic intense spells it runs very poorly at about 12-15 fps, even lower...
HOWEVER it gives me the idea of what the game is, I think I might actually upgrade my system for this one to run smoothly.

I've got six of them. Anyone interested?
edit: also, is there something like an Arch clan? It would be nice to play with some polite and mature people for a change ^^

Why is the Heroes of Newerth in he AUR not maintained?
I would love to play it, im getting a beta key today.
Is it hard to compile yourself?

I believe you're mistaken on what the package itself contains. Heroes of Newerth is not released in source, there's no compiling. The AUR package just downloads the installer and puts files in the right places. Heroes of Newerth has its own built-in updater when you run the game.

If anyone still has any beta keys for this I'd love to get my hands on one... A new native game is always a bit of an event!

If anyone have a key to share, I would be really happy to get one

If you joined my games you'd have this happen to you as well . HoN has a pretty steep learning curve, do practice mode for a bit before even thinking about joining games, and when you do join it has to be a noob-only game or you'll get your ass handed to you.
Not recommended for casual gamers at all.
