@whordijk - you can get a bottom bar opening to put a conky bar by patching dwm.c with:
sh = DisplayHeight(dpy, screen) - BOTTOM_BAR_HEIGHT;
m->mh = m->wh = info[i].height - BOTTOM_BAR_HEIGHT;
(just add the -BOTTOM_BAR_HEIGHT to those two lines -- one line works for some people, the other line works for other people)
and add to config.h --
#define BOTTOM_BAR_HEIGHT 18 (or whatever size you want)
Good luck!

Thanks! It works like a charm I often found the status bar to be too crowded with info, this way I can divide it evenly

What the color of you font in the terminal (I mean #something)?
I don't know the code. It's PS1 in .bashrc:
PS1='[\[\e[0;36m\]igor\[\e[0m\] \W]\$ '
I guess you can fetch it direcly from the screenshot in gimp. Besides that, the rest of the font is white (#FFFFFF).

Did you integrate a system tray into the dwm statusbar ? If so, how ?
The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

I am also interested: it is the only thing dwm lacks, imho

Yep, more or less. There are two steps involved:
1) Make DWM ignore the panel
2) Add the space for it at the top
I use DWM 5.5.
I got this patch from the mailing list:

This allows you to set a mask called NoFocus in your config.h in place of Floating, like so:
{ NULL, NULL, "panel", ~0, NoFocus }
Where "panel" happens to be the title of trayer, which is what I use. This causes DWM to ignore your panel (or anything else you want) unless you mouse over it. I went a small step further and modified my dwm.c to stop drawing borders around the panel, which decreases the area it consumes by two pixels.
My dwm.c follows (WITHOUT the changes the patch above makes). Note the following changes:
TOP_GAP determines how much space to leave on top
BOTTOM_GAP determines how much space to leave on bottom (I don't use this)
BAR_REMAINDER determines how much space for the dwm statusbar to leave from the right. Basically I wanted to use dzen et al, so I leave a space for that after the statusbar.
Make anything called stalonetray or panel borderless

* dynamic window manager is designed like any other X client as well. It is
* driven through handling X events. In contrast to other X clients, a window
