if mean by pager  text editor it's vim. for the bar it's just a  gnu screen hardstatus with a custom backtick

Yeah, they're referring to the thing in the top left of your clean desktop shot that displays thumbnails of all your virtual desktops (to be as precise as possible).

Probably not, it has reached The end of the line.

Still, ion is the best window manager, at leaset for me. Yes, I have tried xmonad, awesome, dwm, wmii, etc. They don't even get close. I hope the community will be able to maintain even if Tuomo will be not doing any work on it.
