I'm pretty new to arch, any suggestions would be much appreciated!

First of all post the right link, you posted the thumbnail smile
[edit] There we go smile
My suggestions:
Good choice of wm, I was a Fluxbox user myself for some years
1. The theme is not too good tbh. You could try one of mine, I recomend the Blu one (I worked my ass on that theme, so treat it nicely smile ). The Gimp project file is also included if you want to chage the colors etc.
http://api.box-look.org/content/show.ph … e37112208a
2. Your conky or whatever that is looks awesome, but I don't like the blue so much. try a warmer shade of blue, add some green/yellow to it (you could use the darkest shade of blue from that Arch logo you got as a wallpaper)
3. Screw eterm and go for urxvt (rxvt-unicode)
Congrats and welcome to Arch smile

Wow thanks for that theme, really nice and using it now smile Yeah I'm going to try out some nice new conky colours soon, great idea for taking the colour from the wallpaper too! And thankyou for your welcome, I'm sure ill be around for a long time to come smile

Also, If anyone could suggest any papers/ebooks/tutorials on arch (or just linux in general) that would be good for a newcomer, please do, I'm extremely eager to learn! (:  (Oh just saw about eterm, going to try rxvt out now big_smile The only reason i use eterm is because its all i know of sad)

Re: September 2009 Screenshots

It is quite bright but not to bad on my eyes.  The fluxbox theme is pretty much my own, huge edits from an existing one.

Can't really find a fitting gtk2 theme.  Any suggestions?

This is after two nights hard at it.  It's pretty much a work in progress, lets see what next month brings smile

Only discoverd ipager tonight it is great.

I do have a suggestion: you should really change the icon in front of the kernel version... Running an Arch kernel with an Ubuntu logo looks kind of awkward tongue.

This a Fluxbox and Conky setup which I use on all my distros now, Arch 64 being the latest. It's basic and clean which is how I like my desktops.

It's global yes, didn't know uzbl can set different styles for different sites..can it? I removed as much as I could from the stuff I don't need like table borders etc. The way it looks now is almost as I want it, sure as hell beats the white that burns my retina when I have my light turned off.
Be advised that this css SUCKS! A lot of useless stuff in here for now, I'll clean up when I'm done.

Nothing special in my config, just put that in $HOME/.config/uzbl/default.css and add

set stylesheet_uri = file://$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/uzbl/default.css

to your config (should be there already, could be commented out, so just adjust it accordingly. Usually this sits in $XDG_DATA_HOME/uzbl/ ($HOME/.local/share/uzbl/)but I'd rather have it in the config directory.
