Re: Arch on a Thinkpad SL500

Same problem for me. After yesterday's system update it is not possible to mute the speakers any more (alsa, also thinkpad SL500). Additionally most applications seem not to be able to access the sound card. Mplayer works fine, but for example vlc or flash player in firefox have no sound. This issue also appeared after the upgrade. Any known workarounds?

More symptoms of this ALSA/Pulse bug.

The built in speakers no longer mute when inserting headphones. I can put them to 0% in alsamixer but any adjustments I make with the hardware buttons (using Kmixer) sometimes reset it to 100%. Rebooting always makes it 100% again too.

Having trouble resuming from suspend recently? For the last two or so weeks it's basically a coin toss whether it wakes up or just displays black.

I haven't noticed any differences.

Probably relevant is that I have the Nvidia 9300M version.
