Moderator comment:  Sorry Graysky,  as much as I enjoy the picture, I've received one too many "Not Safe for Work" reports.  Changed the thumbnail to a link.
To anyone following the link, you have been warned (But it is kind of nice:) )

Dockbarx is its own standalone dock, or an awn applet. Install dockbarx from the aur, and to run it standalone use the "dockx" command. Add this to autostart to get the dock at login.

You just got to add a separator from panel > add panel items, it shows up in the list.

afaik with current battery tech, overcharging is impossible unless your laptop's charger or battery is malfunctioning. They have built in chips/sensors to prevent it.

That's what they say, and I'm sure it's at least partially true, but the internet and my own anecdotal experience says that leaving it plugged in is a good way to guarantee an almost useless battery in a year. Whereas, I'm very careful to unplug my battery when it gets to 90% charged and whenever I know my CPU is going to be working hard (heat), and my battery still holds a 7 hour charge (it is a 12 cell).

Old NiCad batteries had the memory loss problem you're thinking of. If you charge it halfway, it shortens the time of use. Lithium batteries have no such memory problems.

Hi there, install archey from the AUR, that should do the trick. In terminal type archey.

My Xubuntu clone...

Using:

  • Greybird theme (GTK+ & Emerald), along with its wallpaper

  • DockbarX in the Xfce panel (see my comments on the xfapplet package in the AUR on how to get it working)

  • Faenza icons

  • Droid Sans font with Ubuntu font packages

  • Redshift

  • NetworkManager (yes, it works well)

  • Ubuntu's Sound Menu Indicator

  • Menu icon is the rather cute "archlinux-wm-xfce" icon available in the archlinux-artwork package

  • LightDM built against GTK+2 as DM

  • And, although it's hidden, Guake - 'cause everybody needs a drop-down terminal.
