I've just set up a new machine today and thought I'd share my (fairly basic) XFCE setup
The Setup:
> Greybird theme.
> Using the font Droid Sans.
> The wallpaper from here.
> And I'm using the area.o43 icon set.
I think that's everything.
Not as good as some of the setups I've seen on this thread but it serves me well...
You need a mouse icon theme and gtk-engines!
pacman -S gtk-engines xcursor-vanilla-dmz xcursor-vanilla-dmz-aa

xfce4-appmenu-plugin from AUR.
Isuggest you read the Ayatana wiki page first though. There is a bit of a dependency chain to build and yaourt can get a bit confused by packages requiring dependencies that don't exist in aur but get built by compiling certain packages from aur nevertheless.

Just started using Archlinux. Really like it. Anyway here's my Xfce setup:
http://i42.tinypic.com/34o6b75.png
GTK theme: Bluebird
Xfwm theme: Bluebird
Icons: Faenza
Very nice! Sheepishly copied that ;-)
One question: What font do you use? Thanks!
