kdemod 4.3.4, icon theme Buuf, QtCurve style heavily modified, plasma theme naked. 

Can anyone point me to a simple/quick how-to for plasma / activities/ plasmoids?  I'm going to go through the manual in kde.org and see the forum tutorials, but I really want a quick cheatsheet or faq.  Particularly how to hide desktop plasmoids / widgest with the mouse on the corner.  in Compiz i used the widgets layer (which had the setting built in).  does kde have something similar?

awesome v3.4-20-g8e02306 (Closing In)

rc.lua --> pasted here

It's Mintsstrong, comes with the artwiz package. Artwiz is available for a lot of distros. So it shouldn't be difficult to get it.
