I'll release the conky soon (probably tomorrow), it's not complete yet.

robrene wrote:

Holy wow! What is that amazing construct at the bottom of your screen? Some sort of uber-conky I presume? Also, what did you do to get volume changes shown through notification-osd?
I also like the font you're using in Geany. It's very clean

The font is DejaVu Sans Mono Book.
I created a simple script for the osd:

vol-notify.sh
[snip]
usage: vol-notify -t | -i | -d
It's for oss but you can easily modify it for alsa.

Thanks! I actually went and wrote a python script (with alsa) for this myself today. I already wrote a volume control tray icon that uses the gtk icon theme earlier, so I modularized the parts that changed the volume and reused the functionality with a simple changer script. I might release it all once I fix one last little bug with the tray icon. Also, since I modularized the volume changing code, it could probably also easily be adapted to work for OSS, Jack, PA, the likes.

compiz standalone + tint2
What tint2 needs is the possibility to add panel plugins like mpd  status or cpu load... That way I could ditch conky finally

Good one.
What is that panel? BMPanel2 + Conky? Tint2 + Conky? Xfce4-panel + Conky (swallower applet?)...?
I'm curious, it's pretty nice.

Hi (again) weakhead,

It's just Tint2 + Conky

May I ask what's your panel on your previous screenshots? Don't you use any tray?
