Well, I doubt any of the others are going to overtake #3… so #3 is now the logo! Well done thoughtcrime and fastfret79 big_smile

I've had to edit it a bit to make the tagline text bigger—it was quite small on the website.

All the logos will be put into an archhurd-artwork package.

Awesome!

I wish all the best to the Arch Hurd developers, hopefully it becomes something big in the future!

Thanks for all your votes, community smile

Re: VOTE: Logo contest: Arch Hurd [vote now over]

I think you should change the reference of GNU/Hurd to GNU Hurd since that's how it's like on the Hurd official website.

And, even further in the future, people will read the holy scriptures (licensed GFDL, naturally) and see quotes like "And lo, Barrucadu did call upon the Archers in their many talents to create a logo for the One True OS."

Calling it GNU implies that the will always stick to GNU software when possible.  Personally, I do not care who made the software as look as it works. If non-GNU software works better than GNU stuff, I will use that.

But when your talking about the gnu kernel, the gnu userland and the gnu c library. You plan on changing any of this?

The point is the GNU userland. One could theoretically also use non-gnu software with the hurd kernel.

Yes theoretically. That implies that Arch calls itself a "Linux" distribution because one day (hypothetically) the devs may decide to use the netbsd userland and libc?
