i miss Counter Strike Source!! I can't played in Arch.
Aye, that's my one burden with Gnu/Linux, the gaming situation is all over the place. Where to start? Driver situation (free or propriety), architecture issues (64 bit games generally require 32 bit libs to install) and market confidence has been destroyed (even ID have stepped out of the scene).
Annoying because Linux is more than capable of being a great gaming platform, but it will never happen.

Really? It cant be played? I play it every day without any problems for hours and I only have Arch installed . I run it on wine (in a 64 bits system).

xorg
Please explain.
Xorg went through a "rough time" a few years back when it changed hands and wasn't actively being worked on. But now I don't see why anyone has a problem with it. The only time I've had X freeze in the last few years was when I was playing with compositing with the nouveau driver.

A significant amount of the complaints people have about xorg are in fact ATI issues. With my nVidia 9400GT and the proprietary driver, I get full resolution, compositing and OpenGL ootb without any xorg.conf, no update has borked it, and there is no tearing at all.
What I hate most? Probably the lack of desktop standards, especially file associations and clipboards are a PITA.

This saddens me as well. Gaming through Wine was always a bloodbath for me. I haven't tried it in more than a year because it was so frustrating.
Maybe I'll try and get 2142 Battlefield running through wine one more time. I guess I could use a bout of frustration this year.

What is it with people hating X? I don't get it.
I was going to say that I hate fanaticism (Borosai was quicker though:D).
Many people tend to spit on everyone using/developing non-free software. Truth is that getting to choose whether to go open or closed source is also freedom.
This is my signature. If you want to read it, first you need to agree to the EULA.

Mainly because of the problems i had with it the last years. Broken configs, really heavy changes, random crashes, the really annoying keyboard bug and so on.
xorg got way better in the last year, but i still have no fun when i have to mess around with it.

From the way you worded that, does that mean you hate yourself for hating too?

I'd also like to add "Users who think they are better than Windows users just because they use Linux". To each his own.

I add my +1 to this post.
And it's really not exclusive to Linux.
Also I don't really hate anything in Linux, it works for me.
So only thing that I can't tolerate is Linux fanaticism of some users. To each his or her own, even if that's Windows or Mac and not Linux.
But as i said it's not exclusive to just Linux.

Users trying to motivate(sic) developers by claiming that linux needs product ecks in order to hit it big time.
Users blaming linux/whining on linux forums for lack of proprietary hardware support.
It is not that I think linux is infallible, that I never have problems or am superuserman...
...but when the questions pass a certain whining factor threshold I think it's only fair that they get the support they paid for.
...From the entity they paid to.
...When they ask them.
I need a sorted list of all random numbers, so that I can retrieve a suitable one later with a binary search instead of having to iterate through the generation process every time.

Meh, i hate ppl who hate fanatics.
I'd also like to add "Users who think they are better than Windows users just because they use Linux". To each his own.
Meh, how can you hate people for telling people what's cleary an obvious fact.
Many people tend to spit on everyone using/developing non-free software. Truth is that getting to choose whether to go open or closed source is also freedom.
Meh, i hate non-free software developing, and i think the freedom of depriving freedom goes under the ethical clause.
...Maybe this is just because im an egotistical knowledge hungry whore
Ignorence is a bliss.
But knowledge is fear! Mwahahaha!

Some people don't know the definition of fanatic.
Personally, I'd rather be back in Hobbiton.

This isn't exactly a Linux issue, but Flash on other systems doesn't have as many problems. Seriously, how can someone FUBAR something so bad that their plugin causes some people's systems to crash while other terrible-by-no-means systems can't even run it? Running .flvs through mplayer or probably any other video player is better in pretty much every way than watching them through a browser.
Thank you, html5. Now, if every flash movie site would simultaneously migrate...

uh uh uh i have another very importand and annoying issue: my girlfriend is scared by linux systems, so i have to keep windows also for her, for when she does't have her laptop...
i think this can be summarized in the "FIRST UNIX LAW: IF YOU HAVE A FRIEND, THERE'S 10% CHANCE HE'LL BE ASKING YOU TO USE YOUR COMPUTER. THE OTHER 90% IS THE CHANCE HE'LL ALSO BE IN TROUBLE WITH YOUR COMPUTER."

another hate thread- my goodness.. observers/search engines will think Arch users are a bunch of disgruntled perfectionists (though this could be true [in a good way])
