Oh, that's good. That handler will work via Gstreamer, or any given video player? And why can't you test YouTube & co?

Flash is an abomination and easily the worst thing that has happened to the net.  I categorically refuse to use it.  If someone wants flash support I'll take a diff provided it isn't intrusive and doesn't break functionality I use.  I certainly will not write that code.

MIME support is in the latest snapshot.  I added all kinds of goodies to that.

No, you got me wrong. I am not asking you to add support for flash (I know you're an OpenBSD user, so you simply don't have it). What I am talking about was somewhat implemented here: http://blog.kov.eti.br/?p=103

I'll take a diff that isn't gpl licensed.

Of what I could see it was impossible to browse without mouse, it would be awesome if this got similar linkfollowing compared to uzbl.

Not sure what uzbl is but I am planning on adding much more in depth keyboard support. Currently I am trying to get the browser up to snuff for daily use.

Life is encroaching though sad

Well, I just wanted to show you an approach. I doubt that a diff from Epiphany could be directly applied to xxxterm. I mean, for technical, not political reasons smile

However, I haven't tested your recent update with YouTube H264 enabled. If that works, then such a workaround isn't really needed.

Overall, I really dig this project smile Thanks for the great app!

Uzbl is a browser made by the Arch community.  It will soon be one year old, and arguably* kicked off the whole minimal-front-end-to-a-modern-rendering-engine thing.

Linkfollowing is a means of clicking on links without using the mouse.  Elinks has a simple version of this.  Press "." and every link gets a number next to it.  Type the number, press enter, and off you go.

* Vimperator probably should take that claim, but Vimperator was just a UI plugin while Uzbl pushed it to absurd lengths.

Re: xxxterm

Yeah that is a pretty cool idea.  I'd need to think about how to implement that.

Re: xxxterm

Ok xxxterm v 1.103 has the f key for linkfollowing.

Enjoy.

Seriously, why is it wrong to bring contribution threads back from the "dead"?

Re: xxxterm

Yeah seriously.  Contribution threads are only pointless when the project is dead.  Xxxterm is not dead.  Therefore...

Also, this isn't a bad browser, but I like vimprobable's lack of UI widgets.  On the plus side, I own a textbook whose cover has the same comic as the one on the default homepage for xxxterm.

The mods exercise our discretion, and in this case I don't see a problem.

Re: xxxterm

The 103 tarball is missing the xxxterm.conf file.

What is the heuristic for generating the second set of linkfollows?  (When you press f twice, only a handful of the links get tagged.)

Re: xxxterm

I fixed the 103 tarbal, sorry about that.

The linkfollowing has two modes:
1. by numbers where you type numbers until you exhaust the posibilities or hit enter
2. by letters (case sensitive) of the link you want to follow; for example you can do f linkiwanttofollow at any point when you exhaust the posibilities it follows the link

So you did 2 looking for links with an f in it.

Re: xxxterm

Looks nice! Quite a nice change from the more vi-keys-oriented uzbl/jumanji/luakit, etc. I did not want to learn a whole new set of keystrokes just to edit parts of the URL. This one seems to fit the bill. I like that this presents a regular GTK widget to edit it.
