You'd better start with Openbox, which has some GUI tools, and autostart.sh (where you can assign setxkbmap stuff etc) is plain sh/bash. So...

I've used openbox (and I know how to confgure it), but I do have problm with my layouts... there's no slution I think.

It's relativelly easy by configuring setxkbmap, like:
setxkbmap -option -option terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp,grp:alt_shift_toggle
(add this in autostart.sh)

Hve already tried it, no result...

You seem not to have tried that, since you also need to specify the languages in the HAL .fdi files in /etc/hal

Yes I have... I'll try it again, though.

I have to admit that you were right. It worked this way.
i've tried it before, but I didn't have configured hal for the layouts. Thanks.

hello,
I have
{ MODKEY, XK_a, spawn, SHCMD("setxkbmap fr")},
in config.h to switch keyboard.
No need to define something new, SHCMD is builtin.
