It's not only happening in yaourt. I have the same issue with packer, and reported it to the packer dev (bruenig) ( http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 02#p761102 ).

Compiz 0.9.0 is released.
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/c … 03429.html

Are you continuing with the Git repository or tying the AUR package versions with releases?

Hmm, wanted to try this out again, but build of plugins-main seems broken, anyone else successfully built it? The rest build fine (20100705 version).

Re: PKGBUILDs: Compiz-0.9 (compiz++)

Compiz++ has some problems with gcc 4.5, you can try 4.4 instead.

Re: PKGBUILDs: Compiz-0.9 (compiz++)

Using the new pkgbuilds, compiz should build and run fine. Bugs are expected.

Doesn't work for me, same issue which was supposed to be due to gcc 4.5.

Do not use the *++ packages, use the *-09 packages, you can find them in the first post. The *++ packages will be updated later and will continue to built from git.

Re: PKGBUILDs: Compiz-0.9 (compiz++)

Could I ask why emerald use is to be discouraged? Are we expected to use gtk-decorator or something else? I do see plenty of emerald themes floating around.

Emerald has no developers, it is a dead project, a new decorator is being made see http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/c … 03405.html. Until then, use [gtk,kde4]-window-decorator.

compiz-09 (decoration) - Warn: Property ignored because version is 20080529 and decoration plugin version is 20080901

Do I have to recompile emerald/gtk-window-decorator or something?

Re: PKGBUILDs: Compiz-0.9 (compiz++)

Hmmm, I've compiled it with gcc 4.5, but I can't get window decorations. I've tried to do "compiz-git --replace" then "gtk-window-decorator --replace" - nothing happened, the same with "emerald --replace". I've enabled Window Decorator plugin. Any help really appreciated.

Re: PKGBUILDs: Compiz-0.9 (compiz++)

You need to start the cpp plugin first to use ccsm.

compiz --replace cpp

Re: PKGBUILDs: Compiz-0.9 (compiz++)

Ok I've got everything compiled and installed but I use compiz standalone with fusion-icon but I'm not sure if its possible to get fusion-icon to launch compiz-git. So far I haven't been able to.
Unless there is another manual way to run compiz standalone without fusion-icon that I don't know about?

edit:
OK I got it running but having the same problem as the above poster. No window decorations even with gtk-window-decorator --replace and with the window decorator plugin enabled.
Getting this message:

[ty@donna ~]$ compiz-git (decoration) - Warn: Property ignored because version is 20080529 and decoration plugin version is 20080901

edit again:
never mind I got it to work big_smile
Forgot to use gtk-window-decorator-git
