Re: qtFM - Small, fast, light Qt filemanager

I've submitted a bug report concerning a problem with a custom action. If the action runs a Bash script which in turn runs a command which is backgrounded (&), then somehow the custom action doesn't work. (This arises because I have my own file opener - expro, effectively replacing xdg-open.) Curious!

Re: qtFM - Small, fast, light Qt filemanager

Hi.

Thanks for this great software. Keep it up.

I've a little problem though.
Is it only me or can't we add two different custom actions for the same filetype ? Example :
application/ogg     Read with Mplayer         No icon             urxtvc -e mplayer %f
application/ogg     Add to playlist               No icon             mpc add %n

In this case, if I right click on an ogg file, only the first custom action, "read with mplayer", shows up.

Also, here is a strange behavior. If I change the second custom action to the following :
application/ogg     Read with Mplayer         No icon             urxtvc -e mplayer %f
ogg     Add to playlist               No icon             mpc add %n

Then, both shows up.
But again, if I change both to "ogg" instead of "application/ogg", only the first custom actions shows up.

Any ideas ?

Thanks for your help.

Edit : Self-Solved ! Nevermind, I updated to 5.5 to see if it fixed the bug but I forgot that qtfm was running as a deamon so the 5.4 was still running at that moment. Now everything's fine after rebooting the deamon, with 5.5!

I add the same problem a while back:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 5#p1074625

It was fixed but maybe the bug returned?

Re: qtFM - Small, fast, light Qt filemanager

Thanks again for the useful file manager.

A few things I've noticed lately:
1) Sometimes when closed with Ctrl+W, Enlightenment seem to think qtfm crashed.
2) If you chmod /home to +x only [to prevent listing of the folder while still letting the users use their home folder. qtfm refuses to go into ~.

Re: qtFM - Small, fast, light Qt filemanager

According to the SVN changelog, there are changes listed for versions 5.6, 5.7, and 5.? however there hasn't been a release since 5.5. I really hate to ask this but...whens the next release? big_smile

edit: 2/25/13 -- I noticed qt5 is now available in the repos. I wonder if it would bring any improvements for qtfm?

Re: qtFM - Small, fast, light Qt filemanager

when i double-click files with jpg.tar.gz, i get a pop-up with open-with... but i want to open it with another app then the defaults that i can choose from, how can i do this?

I tried making a custom action named "open", but i still only get a pop-up to choose a open-with app. The custom action: %11=jpg.tar.gz, Open, , /BACKUP/bin/bicopen %F

I think I found a bug. When I drag a file from qtfm to VLC, 5 instances of that file show up in the playlist of VLC.
I am using dwm.

In list/compact view mouse scrolling doesn't work. PCManfm-Qt had a workaround that might be used here too, if qtfm is still maintained: https://github.com/lxde/pcmanfm-qt/comm … c1c1cbdae1

Is this software still in development?

Last GIT commit is on 2012:

qtfm seems dead, long live yefm, "Rewritten from qtFM":

Active and seemingly improved.

Re: qtFM - Small, fast, light Qt filemanager

Can't open video, audio and office files(maybe others as well). Mimetypes are set in Settings but only Images with feh and txt files with leafpad open from qtfm. Tried removing mimeapps.list with empty default.list as suggested on previous page but no success. Does it work for you?

edit: nvm
