very nice , thumbs up! maybe the package search box could be darker like the header....

Purple background..? Calibrate your monitors, people!
I really like the new design, the site looks a lot more professional now. I also think making the header 100px
smaller was a good decision, it leaves more space for the actual page content.
Great work!

Looks good. I wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't for this thread. I usually come straight to the forum.
I do hope the forum gets a makeover too though.

I need some time to adapt to this new color that match one of my shirt ^^
There is one little bug, when you select Packages it doesn't turn white like it should

Is there any official statement why the design had to be changed?
In this case I go with the lore "Never change a running system" as all went fine with the old one. All information was readable, much more than now. Personally it's more exhausting for my eyes.

I love the redesign. The Arch team has an eye for excellent aesthetics.

Though the redesign looks nice (thanks for this work, devs!), I also got a bit pain in my eyes after looking at my monitor too long and the fact that it's 1 am here. Grey, like in the posted link, is IMHO a far better colour for Arch than purple/violet/lilac/whatever. Please correct the colour in the background.
One remark, though: wouldn't the links in the main navigation be more recognizable when they are painted with a blue background, possibly rendered with rounded corners, when mousing over them? Like:

It's nice, but I think I like the old one better. Don't want to say for sure since it's late and I'm drunk...

weird, on my (lcd) screen the "after" image looks purple/violet/lilac/whatever, while the "before" screenshot has more off a light blueish gray.
edit: background before and after ^^

from the link:
"Replaces the new gay looking and eye hurting lilac background and border colors to something more sophisticated and stylish."
also
it threw off my dark-arch stylish theme
i'll fix it when i get home though... i do like the new layout, just not the colors

+1 for runiq's suggestion.
The layout is ok, but the background color hurts my eyes... #444 on #eef is just an eye sore.

Nice work! I really like it
Just one little note - I wouldn't set a special color for :visited links, rather leave them blue

In that case there must be something wrong with your display settings/viewing angle/light in your surroundings/eyes/other senses, as colour #EEEEFF certainly has a bit more blue in it, whereas #DEDEDE has to look light gray.

Oh please, don't do that! Please read Change the Color of Visited Links before considering this.
EDIT: Yes! Post 128.

purple/violet for my brain is some kind of mix between red and blue, and I can't see any red tone in #EEEEFF... but sure, there is more blue in that one than red in #DEDEDE;) I guess I got the impression from the screenshots because it is a bit darker while thinking "where is the purple they are talking about". whatever, I don't care that much. both fine with me.

I'm running a CRT, so I think I have the right to determine it's color.
ATTENTION EVERYONE I'D LIKE TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT!
It's purple.
*Everybody starts arguing*
Everybody shut up! I think a better color would be an very very very pale blue.
Personally, I'd rather be back in Hobbiton.
