Finally got my status bar set up the way I wanted it (conky piped to dwm).

My setup:

dwm-pango package (custom pertag and statuscolours patches on top of the Pango one).  Status bar is conky piped to dwm.

Terminal is urxvt.  I'll be happy to share any of the configs/scripts (the wallpaper is in the DeviantArt gallery, here), just let me know what you want the configs of (there are quite a few, otherwise I'd have posted links to them all here).

dwm-specific:

dwm-pango-5.8.1-pertag.diff: http://lswest.pastebin.com/PyF4V6kD

(apply the patches in this order: pango --> pertag --> statuscolours).  If you have any issues, let me know and I'll try to help you figure it out.
