Re: Switching to libjpeg-turbo?

jpegoptim no longer works after installing libjpeg-turbo -- does anyone know of an alternative lossless JPEG optimization program, or perhaps a solution to making them play nice?

There is no system but GNU and Linux is one of its kernels.

Re: Switching to libjpeg-turbo?

I use the jpgcrush, the logic is in perl and its use the jpegtran (from libjpeg/libjpeg-turbo so no extra binaries).

It seems to strip away metadata, but otherwise I like it.

Yes, but I use exiv2 to put it again (i.e. I run exiv2 extract before and exiv2 insert after). Put in a litle bash/sh/zsh wraper the and you are done.
