**ImageShack Users**

Please start using another pic hosting site. Seriously, is it necessary to use a site that uses pop-ups. As well, since the pop-up launches when you click to maximize the image, technically you initiated a new window, and so it isn't caught by pop-up blocker.

There are a million other free image hosting sites out there.

To name a few:
omploader.org
picoodle.com
xs.to

Here is an example of what I see when I click one of you picture links:
tMTJkZQ
This is what one may be who uses imageshack!!

As well, I currently have 73!!! cookies from imageshack, not to mention the ones provided by the popups.

Re: **ImageShack Users**

Or you can use the script "imageshack-upload" found in the AUR, which links directly to the actual image.

They manage to trick Opera every single time.

Same here.  I've been using Imageshack for a year now, and I have never seen any pop-up or ads, neither in Firefox nor Opera.  Opera may not have an Adblock Plus add-on, but you can update your URL filter file from Fanboy's AdBlock List every month to get ad-blocking that is about as good as Adblock Plus.

Thank You!

I am using firefox 3.1beta2, for which ad-block-plus has not been updated.

BTW I just found one that was worse, and a novice user(read Id10T windows user) would surely have gotten a nice helping of spyware on their PC from this one.

screenshots.cc

It resized my browser window, moved it offscreen and gave this pop-up.

I don't use imageshack, nor will I ever. I just don't see the point in using/supporting anything that has, however remote, malicious intent.

Re: **ImageShack Users**

With adblock enabled imageshack simply doesn't work, so I never actually look at anything that's posted using imageshack.

Re: **ImageShack Users**

Yes, it has become such a pain, why are some people even compelled to upload there ?
I use xs.to whenever i need to up an image... it's more KISS wink

It wasn't referred to you. I was referring to the people who wanted to stick to Imageshack. As for me I have abandoned that website long ago (I absolutely detest spam). I rarely use it when I use that script just because it's the only automatic image uploader I have and it only works with Imageshack.

Imageshack is a pain in the arse! Is there another script like imageshack-upload for the other image uploading sites?

http://flo.server-speed.net/stuff/bin/upload-image.sh
http://flo.server-speed.net/stuff/bin/xup.sh

XUP allows every file to be uploaded as long as it's smaller than 15MB. Both are fast and I don't have ad problems with adblock and noscript.

PS: ack is a perl-script which you can find in the aur.

I've been using http://deviantart.com for screenshots, but I have adblock on all the time, so I can't tell if there are ads or pop-ups.

Re: **ImageShack Users**

i have not got any messages or experienced any popups on deviantart. But they do have ads and i do experience that, when i click a link, i enter a page with an ad which i give me a link so that i can proceed to the page with the actual screenshot. Only way to get around it is to pay for a membership to the site... Understand they want to make money. But i still find it extremely annoying. But i find deviantart to be a better page then imageshack.

I always get a popup if i want to watch the pic fullsize. So imageshack is a no-no for me. I would vote "no" for imageshack if someone petitioned to ban it.

The "Screenshot posting rules" thread was updated to use omploader.org. Sorry for any inconvenience.
