kernel causing buggy tab behavior?

to start off with, i am using a laptop with a synaptics touchpad. probably 6 or so months ago i decided to compile the con kolivas kernel to add some speed. i eventually got it to work but then a weird bug popped up. clicking on links in a web browser or folders in nautilus would sometimes cause a new tab to appear. also clicking on tabs would sometime close the tab instead of bringing it to focus. the bug annoyed me a lot so i decided to go back to the regular kernel. this fixed the problem. soon after i decided to go back to Ubuntu. fast forward to now and i decided to revisit archlinux. the problem now happens with both the regular kernel and the LTS kernel. any ideas?

Re: kernel causing buggy tab behavior?

Have you installed the driver?

# pacman -S xf86-input-synaptics

And looked through the wiki?
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics

Don't break the silence unless you can improve upon it.
