Harddisk Parking

Since the update to X.Org 1.8 it seems that when i unplugg my Power Supply, my Haddisk goes to APM Level 1 (Aggresive Powersaving)

The only way right now to prevent my harddisk to destroy itself in case of a lot (really a lot!!!) of parking/spin-down is to use my selfwritten rc-script to unset/set the APM Level via HDParm

Is there any real solution to prevent my Haddisk to go to APM 1? i think its upower related becease the settings i did in PM-Utils doesnt do anything

//Edit: i got it

touch /etc/pm/power.d/harddrive

did it…

Re: Harddisk Parking

On me the checking with hdparm told me 1

i set to 254 and it stays on that, everything was fine. Then i unplugged AC Adaptor and hdparm told me APM Value of 1...

the command i mentioned above overwrites the configs of PM-Utils and so PM-Utils doesn´t do anything with the harddrive anymore and it works fine.
