This bug is not reproducible that easily but I wonder if anyone having the same issue. Sometimes, when I start an application regardless of the uptime, gnome-settings-daemon breaks and pops up the default gnome theme and appearance settings. I get this in xsession-errors:
The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
(Details: serial 3996 error_code 8 request_code 15 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
I see that other distributions are hit by this also (debian, ubuntu, fedora) but there is no solution on any of the bug reports. I had this problem a long time ago, then during gnome 2.26/2.28 i haven't had these troubles, 2.30 - bug is back again. Any solutions, recommendations, anything ?

I've seen this before too (happened today actually). Hard to reproduce, but when I tried to change the theme "back", gdm crashed.

So I'm not alone This is an upstream bug guaranteed, but I haven't found any solutions If someone find anything - please let us know.
