Skype blocks sound in flash

After I run skype I am unable to get sound out of flash (youtube, gmail chat notifications, etc).

I recently decided to branch out from my simple openbox setup and I'm still a bit lost in kde.  I've read multiple threads and have tried both phonon-mplayer and phonon-xine, currently using alsa.  Any ideas?

Re: Skype blocks sound in flash

Is it the case of http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/All … Play_Sound or it's just Skype misbehaving?

Re: Skype blocks sound in flash

Well, I've already got  !snd_pcm_oss in the modules section of rc.conf and my .asoundrc is:

pcm.dmixout {
  # Just pass this on to the system dmix
  type plug
  slave {
     pcm "dmix"
  }
}

But I don't have anything in /etc/asound.conf so now I'm wondering if I should try the sample one listed on the wiki?
