Hi,
I'm having a problem with Xine. Often times when it's supposed to exit (either by command or when the file is done) the process lingers and the screen stays black. If I started it from a terminal I have to do ctrl-c to get it to close and give me back my desktop. Otherwise, I have to alt-F2 to another VT and close it.
When it's in this state, alt tabbing doesn't even work. It shows the window list, but no matter what app you select, the screen stays black.
Googling doesn't really reveal anything. Anybody got an idea?

also using XINE and not seen such a problem. Just to did a pacman -syu.
Than i tested some files: AVI, VOB. (both made with kdenlive)
a MP3 (from a cd) a MPG (from sony videorecorder). They all work smooth and no problem.
Could there be any other software interfering ? (i have very few programs installed on this system)
What is your window manager (KDE, Gnome, Xfce, Compiz ? )
O, another suggestion: at one time a messed up my XINE skin and that really caused trouble.
So suggest you first try with its default skin.

I use KDE and whether or not I use it's compositing option doesn't matter. I also use the default skin.

hmmm, i'm by no means an xorg expert, your glxinfo looks very similar to mine,
just spotted 1 diffrence: i do not have the "GLX_EXT_framebuffer_sRGB"
Using Arch 32 bit system. Hardware: nvidia. Nvidia driver 256.35-1. Software mainly gtk. XINE working on different systems
a) icewm + rox-filer (no compositing on this)
b) gtk + compiz Fusion + xfce
c) gtk + compiz fusion + rox filer
and i think XINE brings along it's own "toolkit" xitk so it seems to always have it's own look and feel.
When you start XINE from a terminal, does it show any error-messages ?

There are no error messages
But I think I've found the pattern. It quits normally when I just quit (with 'q') for instance, but the fault happens when I quit with the remote control.
I have some xine bugs to report, so I guess I'll include this one.
