Hi.
For the last few days I am experiencing random freezes of X.
Sometimes it goes away after 15-30 seconds, sometimes it doesn't for a longer time.
My screen freezes, mouse and keyboards are nto responding. However I can still ssh to the machine and it works just fine.
I can kill the X. This is the end of Xorg.log:
[ 5655.044] (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (2, 6, 0x8000, 0x0000b438, 0x0000b448)
[ 5656.714] [mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop.

I have xorg-server 1.8.1.902-1, nvidia 256.35-1 and kernel26 2.6.34-2.
Anybody experiences the same thing? Any solutions? Hints?
I will try upgrading to older nvidia driver to see if it helps...

I have a computer with nvidia at home, but I haven't been noticing anything out of the ordinary.
Yeah, you might want to try downgrading something — cause all those packages got updated recently... so I suppose it could be xorg, the kernel or nvidia. However, the log does indicate that it has something to do with nvidia (you just gotta remember, that nvidia plays with the kernel and xorg, so it's hard to nail the problem).

I think that's your problem right there ... I have seen a few threads with similar problems with the same hardware/software combination.
I have a machine with similar conditions and it's giving me problems here and there. It also seems to have a different behaviour with different nvidia cards.
For now, until things get settled I'm using the nouveau drivers but I get not KDE effects.

I have downgraded nvidia-related packages to 195.36.31 yesterday morning and I haven't experienced any freezes yet...
