Problems in Epson C79 configuration

Hi people!

I just installed Archlinux + KDE yesterday and I'm very, very pleased. I've been using Ubuntu for 1.5+ years now and I decided to switch.

Everything is working fine, except I couldn't get my Epson C79 to work, following the Wiki (which es excellent, by the way).

Let's see, I installed cups, gutenprint, all the packages that the Wiki lists but at least KDE doesn't find the printer.

If I do a lsusb, I get:

Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 04b8:0005 Seiko Epson Corp. Stylus D88+
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 1bcf:0007 Sunplus Innovation Technology Inc. Optical Mouse
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0951:1607 Kingston Technology DataTraveler 100
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Which tells me that the printer is being recognized, but there's something that I'm not doing right. I've used the configuration wizard that KDE brings but my printer doesn't appear in it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

PS: Sorry for my english, it's not my first language. And also, sorry if I'm missing something from the wiki or any info smile

Re: Problems in Epson C79 configuration

Have you tried to install it directly from cups?

(Go to http://localhost:631/ in your browser)
