Ubuntu makes it onto the small screen

http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/06/ubun … crowd.html

Well it got me excited at least.

Me - Quick Beck, come here.
Beck (my gf) - What, what is it?
Me - Ubuntu on the IT crowd, look on the monitor!
Beck - Oh your such a geek

She does love me really though wink

Re: Ubuntu makes it onto the small screen

I have only watched one Episode (mainly because of the guy from the Boosh), not really my cup of tea.
However I kind of wonder why everyone gets excited when they discover a linux-related prop in a geek-themed sitcom tongue

I've had the same 'Actual Size' sticker on laptop for over a year now. I feel like a geek trendsetter big_smile

Well beyond the IT crowd, there was one episode of doctor who this year where he can be seen using a laptop running fedora (or some other gnome based distro themed in blue)

Re: Ubuntu makes it onto the small screen

I saw linux on TV, but in a real life situation. The news was talking about scientists collecting data on the Earth's movement from an earthquake in Baja. The camera showed a closeup of some text output of a terminal, apparently the scientists' data, and the font was obviously Vera, then I saw the taskbar and there was the workspace switcher in the lower right corner. The desktop had a bluish theme so I guessed it was Fedora.

The pilot of the helicopter the scientists were in was using Windows however.

Personally, I'd rather be back in Hobbiton.

IIRC, CSI was seen using KDE...
