non-gui mediacenter?

Instead of mythtv, xbmc or other media centers I just use ssh and mplayer to control and watch movies on the tv. I am fine by this but wonder if some kind of text based media center exist, maybe a curses-based one. Anyone of you knows of something like this?

There are no better text based media center then bash)  If you are looking for new ways to remote conrol media center, you may be interested with anyremote, which seems has a scripts for mplayer

Not exactly a media centre, but vlc has a curses interface.
