Just put Arch on my elitebook and was wondering if I need to enable something to get a read on my "ACPI power usage estimate"?
PowerTOP version 1.11 (C) 2007 Intel Corporation
Cn Avg residency P-states (frequencies)
C0 (cpu running) (34.2%) 2.54 Ghz 80.9%
polling 0.4ms ( 0.1%) 2.54 Ghz 15.3%
C1 mwait 0.3ms (17.1%) 1.60 Ghz 3.8%
C4 mwait 0.9ms (48.7%) 800 Mhz 0.0%
Wakeups-from-idle per second : 1073.5 interval: 10.0s
no ACPI power usage estimate available
Top causes for wakeups:
31.4% (553.3) USB device 2-6 : DataTraveler 2.0 (Kingston)
27.8% (488.8) <interrupt> : ehci_hcd:usb2, uhci_hcd:usb6
24.6% (432.9) <kernel core> : hrtimer_start_range_ns (tick_sched_timer)
7.7% (135.3) <kernel IPI> : Rescheduling interrupts
1.8% ( 31.7) USB device 7-2 : Microsoft IntelliMouse® Explorer (Microsoft)
1.7% ( 29.8) <interrupt> : extra timer interrupt
Suggestion: Disable 'hal' from polling your cdrom with:
hal-disable-polling --device /dev/cdrom 'hal' is the component that auto-opens a
window if you plug in a CD but disables SATA power saving from kicking in.

Maybe try running it on battery.

Good call! Working now:
Cn Avg residency P-states (frequencies)
C0 (cpu running) ( 1.9%) 2.54 Ghz 0.0%
C0 0.0ms ( 0.0%) 2.54 Ghz 15.1%
C1 mwait 0.0ms ( 0.0%) 1.60 Ghz 16.6%
C2 mwait 0.7ms ( 2.2%) 800 Mhz 68.3%
C6 mwait 4.3ms (95.9%)
Wakeups-from-idle per second : 258.3 interval: 3.0s
Power usage (ACPI estimate): 24.8W (2.8 hours)
Top causes for wakeups:
32.3% (105.0) <interrupt> : extra timer interrupt
28.5% ( 92.7) <kernel core> : hrtimer_start_range_ns (tick_sched_timer)
8.2% ( 26.7) <interrupt> : ehci_hcd:usb2, uhci_hcd:usb6
8.0% ( 26.0) firefox : hrtimer_start_range_ns (hrtimer_wakeup)
7.2% ( 23.3) USB device 2-6 : DataTraveler 2.0 (Kingston)
