[Solved]proftpd - How to setup user accounts with directories

I read somewhere you have to create a /etc/passwd file that stores the user names and passwords I think with the directory you want to share. I want to avoid making multiple accounts within my server its self.

Is this correct?  Can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks smile

Proftpd use PAM authentication. This means proftpd authenticates against users and passwords you created in linux system.
