using openbox - background now green after recent upgrade

Hello. I'm not sure if this is the correct section, but it seems close enough. My notebook now has a bright green background when I start X, including the bottom, where fbpanel resides. It's VERY weird. When I remove openbox from my xinitrc, the screen background is normal. I checked ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh, and it's unchanged.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? It's driving me crazy!

My xinitrc:

#!/bin/sh
fbpanel &
exec ck-launch-session openbox-session

What background did you have before? Are you not using a background-setting utility e.g. feh, nitrogen, etc?
