Citrix Xenapp Client issue

I've installed the Citrix Xenapp client on my 64 bit machine using the instructions here:

When I try to start wfcmgr I get the following error "Your operating system is unable to convert characters from UTF-8 to UNICODE. Do you wish to continue?". I click on OK and the app closes.

I've Googled and Googled. No luck. I've searched the wiki. No luck.

Any idea how to fix this issue?

Okay I've done a little more testing and realized that the app does get past this screen if I click on OK. But it then says "Error in configuration file: "/home/username/.ICAClient/wfclient.ini" Cannot find section "WFClient"".

There is a WFClient section in the file and I even tried copying an old wfclient.ini file from a backup in and it gives me the same error.

I vaguely remember encountering a problem like this when I set up XenApp on some machines.. but it was almost a year ago and I don't remember exactly what the fix was. It so happens that I kept the image of the workstation from back then, so I have my old config files

This is kind of a shot in the dark, but see if you have a [WFClient] section in your appsrv.ini file. I think it *might* give that error (about wfclient.ini) when the problem is actually there. The problem could also be that you're missing appsrv.ini.

...but I don't remember modifying any of them. There should be default versions of them somewhere (/usr/local/Citrix/linuxx86/config/ on this system apparently) that you can copy.
