Radeonhd driver not loaded in X

Hello,

I'm trying to set up the graphics on my laptop, but I face a driver issue. Chipset is Radeon X1270 (1200-series), and the according driver is the radeonhd. However, it seems like it is not loaded at all. Hwd lists the vesa driver, even though radeonhd is set as driver in xorg.conf.

I also tried to load it through modules and not, but nothing seemed to work. Any ideas?

Re: Radeonhd driver not loaded in X

The radeonhd driver is deprecated, you should use the radeon driver. It should be autodetected by xorg. Try moving your xorg.conf away and restarting X to see what driver it uses.

And if that doesn't fix your problems, post your xorg log.
