[SOLVED] Xorg Keyboard unresponsive

Hello.

I was following the Archlinux Beginners' Guide and i'm stuck at the point  "C: Test X "(xterm).
When I start Xorg, xterm shows, the mouse works fine, but the keyboard is  unresponsive. When pressing numlock/capslock the lights don't show, no input in xterm is possible.
Haven't found a keyboard only not working thread, therefore created one.

X Protocol Version 11
X Server 1.8.1.902
Video Driver: nv
Xorg detected mouse
xf86-input-evdev is installed
hal is installed

Thankful for any help.
Friendly greetings

Re: [SOLVED] Xorg Keyboard unresponsive

Are you using xorg.conf? If so, remove / rename it. Show us your udev rules and the logs.

Udev rules live in /etc/udev/rules.d/.
By logs I mean /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

Re: [SOLVED] Xorg Keyboard unresponsive

I thought xorg.conf wasn't necessary when using hal.

xinitrc
http://paste.pocoo.org/show/236620/

Xorg.0.log
http://paste.pocoo.org/show/236617/

hal-device
http://paste.pocoo.org/show/236616/

xorg.conf
http://paste.pocoo.org/show/236619/

udev 75-persistent net generator
http://paste.pocoo.org/show/236615/

udev 75-cd-aliases generator
http://paste.pocoo.org/show/236613/

Thanks for the quick response.

That's right and that's why I asked you to remove it :-)

Please post the output of

ls /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/*

Re: [SOLVED] Xorg Keyboard unresponsive

Did you remove xorg.conf? Still not working?

Try to comment out

Option "XkbLayout" "sg"

in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf.

Have you tried using a different driver than nv?

Thanks. Worked great.
The X Keyboard Layout was wrong. Typed the wrong parameters it seems.........

Re: [SOLVED] Xorg Keyboard unresponsive

Cool.

I want to know what settings to pick for the layout we use in Poland:

[karol@black ~]$ find /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols -type f -exec grep -ilI poland {} +
/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/pl

Substitute 'poland' for singapore, spain or whatever.

If the above doesn't work, try searching manually:

ls /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ | less
