As soon as I press a fullscreen mode button of an in-webpage embedded Adobe Flash flv video player, system hangs. Any ideas?
Intel 855 graphics, XFCE, all the latest versions. The system is 32-bit x86 (Centrino-Dothan).

Did fullscreen work for you in the past?
Does your system completely freeze, or just your web browser, X, etc.?

> Intel 855 graphics,
Try (hitting Esc and) waiting 5-10 minutes. It should "unlock" itself.
What does 'pacman -Q xorg-server' say?

Can you Ctrl+Alt+F1 to tty1 and see if there are any xorg errors? Before, when I used awesomewm, fullscreen flash would be dreadfully laggy, freezing for 20-30 seconds.

"The past" was Windows XP, and yes, it did work there if my memory does not joke me (I've last used it long-long ago).

Just a black screen.

Weird it is. Now I've tryed it with a second monitor attached and it works perfect. Maybe this is because something was updated recently. I'll try again after rebooting without a second monitor and write how it goes...

I don't watch fullscreen flash videos online, I download them and use mplayer.
Sorry, but Flash on linux simply sucks.
