Can't load powernow-k8 on HP ZE2308WM

Okay, so, I may be a newb, I may not.  I am willing to try almost anything, and have a sturdy programming background, so, suggestions welcomed.  I have a HP ZE2308WM with an upgraded processor, to a MT-40.  When I try to load powernow-k8, i get an error, "No such device".
When I look at sudo tail /var/log/everything.log I see the following:

Jul 13 00:13:24 HP-ZE2308WM kernel: powernow-k8: Found 1 AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology MT-40 processors (1 cpu cores) (version 2.20.00)
Jul 13 00:13:24 HP-ZE2308WM kernel: [Firmware Bug]: powernow-k8: No PSB or ACPI _PSS objects

Is there a way to force load it, or a firmware patch, or anything?????

When you do a modprobe powernow-k8?

Have you tried using the k6 or k7?

Is Cool 'n Quiet enabled in bios? I had a powernow-k8 issue today because I disabled Cool 'n Quiet.

The command is "modprobe powernow_k8" not "modprobe powernow-k8" . Would that be your problem?

The BIOS is very limited in the options I have....and there isn't an option to enable it.  I know I can control the voltage and multiplier with Windows XP, Vista, and 7, does that mean it must be?  I made this system an Arch system mainly for the convenience of having a Linux box for developing and system repair.
It is a PhoenixBIOS, HP version F.27.  I have the BIOS editing tools so that I can modify the BIOS code, but wouldn't know where to start with this system, and don't want to brick it.

Also, the k6 and k7 give a the error: "FATAL: Module powernow_k{6, 7} not found."
