OpenOffice.org installation screws up executable file associations ?

Why did it replaced my executabe icon with it's own ? Basically, I don't really understand why all of the files in /usr/bin haven't been touched but all of the executables in my home directory now have been masked by this weird OpenOffice.org document icon.

Does anybody know how to fix it ? Had the exact same problem 6 months ago ..
