Hello again,
I have installed catalyst fglrx, wine and even installed what is required to get my games working with winetricks, Still I cannot run any game in 3D (software works fine). I am using wine last release candidate and also tried older, all with the same results. The error I get when I run games is the next:
fixme:dinput:IDirectInputDevice2AImpl_EnumEffects (this=0x12a8d0,0x532e70,0x33f15c,0x00000000): stub!
err:winediag:X11DRV_WineGL_InitOpenglInfo Direct rendering is disabled, most likely your OpenGL drivers haven't been installed correctly
X Error of failed request: GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest
Major opcode of failed request: 159 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 17 (X_GLXVendorPrivateWithReply)
Serial number of failed request: 398
Current serial number in output stream: 398
Also tried with PlayOnLinux getting the exact same results. 3D acceleration works and I have Direct Rendering enabled (glxinfo | grep rendering).
Any ideas? Thanks!

Somewhere in winecfg or the graphics card settings you can pick the type of rendering performed - maybe OpenGL is somehow disabled.

What sort of system are you running, what video card, is it 64-bit?

Thanks for the answer, its ArchLinux x86_64 and I am running with a Radeon 4870HD. I used to play fine some time ago, I guess I missed something this time

Do you have lib32-catalyst-utils installed?

Thank you, that fixed the problem. I thought I had it installed and I did not. And didn't think that was even needed if having catalyst drivers.

For the record - drivers are arch-specific as well. You can think about it this way, without lib32-catalyst your 32-bit wine and your 64-bit catalyst don't speak the same language.
