Does anybody know where I can find mp4creator? It expected it to be in the package lib32-libmp4v2, but it doesn't seem to be.

What made you think it'll be there?

Thanks for the reply, karol.
lib32-libmp4v2 describes itself as "MPEG-4 library and tools from mpeg4ip". mp4creator is part of the mpeg4ip suite.

You have
# usr/bin/mp4art
# usr/bin/mp4chaps
# usr/bin/mp4extract
# usr/bin/mp4file
# usr/bin/mp4info
# usr/bin/mp4subtitle
# usr/bin/mp4tags
# usr/bin/mp4track
# usr/bin/mp4trackdump
Maybe one of those will do what mp4creator did - just w/ another name.
#mp4v2 on irc.freenode.net or e-mail sb from the project http://code.google.com/p/mp4v2/
http://code.google.com/p/mp4v2/issues/d … mp4creator
"mp4creator --optimize or mp4file --optimize on a file containing any audio track names (...)"
Hmmm, maybe mp4file will do what you need?
I have no idea what mp4creator does or ought to do, but you can give it a shot.

There are some mp4 tools hiding in 'community/gpac', too.

FYI if you go for gpac, the tool you'll want is MP4Box.

Thanks for the tip anonymous_user. It looks like MP4Box will help.
Do you have any experience using the tool? I try to do MP4Box -flat filename.m4a, but I get a message like Box "stsd" has [some number] extra bytes and the file is left unchanged. Any idea?
Thanks again.

Unfortunately, I do not have experience with the tool. Perhaps create a new thread to discuss it.
