Re: Automount + pcmanfm

First of all, check that it is the pcmanfm upgrade that is causing the problem by rolling back your installed version of pcmanfm from 0.9.7-1 to 0.5.2-1

The following example is for 32 bit only and assumes you haven't cleared your pacman cache files:

cd /var/cache/pacman/pkg

pacman -U pcmanfm-0.5.2-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz

See if that makes your usb pen drives visable again on pcmanfm.

I'm looking for a fix for pcmanfm-0.9.7.1, but so far I see it involves messing about with HAL and all sorts of other nonsense.

Re: Automount + pcmanfm

after those issues with pcmanfm from the repos, i installed pcmanfm-git from the aur and udisks from the repos

pcmanfm-git is hal independant but can't handle any devices by default, so you have to edit the file: /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.udisks.policy

and change <allow_any>no</allow_any>, to <allow_any>yes</allow_any>   (at the very beginning of the file)

+ start dbus as daemon

Re: Automount + pcmanfm

this stuff was brought multiple times on forum after this update. use the search feature and you'll find proper ways of configure your system and not junks like editing /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.udisks.policy

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
