firefox-pgo failing with errors [solved, see post]

I am trying to build firefox-pgo via makepkg on my machine and it keeps ending in an error. The error log that is mentioned in the build log doesn't seem to exist or at least it is in a place I don't know about.. any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
