[solved]pppoe shows the user as nobody

Hi,
I use pppoe-start from root to start my adsl connection. When i do ps -ef i see the user name as nobody for this process.
Below is the entry what i see
"nobody    2931  2928  0 14:07 ?        00:00:00 /usr/sbin/pppoe -p /var/run/pppo..."
Please advice on what to do to get this fixed or is it a normal thing and doesn't require a fix?

Re: [solved]pppoe shows the user as nobody

I 'happens', some daemons are run like that IIRC.
Does it work OK?
/etc/group:

...
power:x:98:
nobody::99:
users::100:karol
dbus:x:81:
...

See: nobody - that's the user running that process.

Everything works fine but is there any vulnerability with process being run as nobody?

'Nobody' is the name of the user. Why do you think it would be vulnerable?

I remember that a year ago, when I switched to Linux, I also was taken aback by 'nobody' running daemons :-)
