Macbook 5,1 Late 2008 Unibody internal microphone through speakers

Hey, I just installed Arch on my macbook 5,1 and everything, but the internal mic, seems to work fine. Though I can hear myself through the internal speakers. For instance applications like audio recorder and skype do not capture anything. I already set the ALSA model to mbp, mbp3 and mb5, but it didn't help at all. Any ideas?

Bump - I have the same problem! Bugger is, I've had Arch installed on this computer for well over a year and I re-installed to a new SSD only to have this problem pop up. Please list if you've had any resolution. Thanks!
