Inconsistent Touchpad

Ive been having touchpad problems in linux on my laptop since I got it. My main issue is that sometimes I boot into linux and my touchpad obeys my settings and works great, while other times Ill boot in and it wont accept any settings and the touchpad becomes difficult to control.

Ive noticed that it works most of the time while im at work (only difference is Im plugged into the internet using an ethernet cable). And while Im at home (wifi) is the time it most often does not work properly. I attached an xorg log when things are working right and a log of when its not working. The synaptics part looks exactly the same in each log and there doesnt seem to be anything different. Anyone know what the issue might be? Touchpad is a synaptics, wifi card is an intel 5300. Thanks for any and all help!
