[SOLVED] Custom Boot Display.

I am trying to install Arch-linux on a tablet and I want to do the following:
1. I want an image to be displayed while it is booting instead of printing the boot process outputs.
2. When the machine is started the grub gives two options. 1. Arch Linux and 2. Arch Linux fallback. I don't want the 2nd option and The Arch Linux should start without any grub.
Can these be done? If yes, how?

Thanks,
Pramod

Re: [SOLVED] Custom Boot Display.

1. Splashy is a popular program for that.
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Splashy

2. Removing Fallback and starting without grub are both bad ideas in my opinion(and in pretty much everyone else's opinion too I am betting), but if you must, you can change the timeout value to 0 in /boot/grub/menu.lst.

Re: [SOLVED] Custom Boot Display.

I think grub2 has some nice options but I have no idea how much of it really works.
timeout=0 means you basically have to keep a liveCD / liveUSB Justin Case.
