[solved] Can't get IP address via DHCP

[Edit: What I wrote before was completely off the mark.]

So my problem was following: I wasn't getting an IP address via dhcpcd or dhclient. And I knew that it worked normally. And I couldn't figure out what the problem was.

But the following fixed it: deleting the leases in /var/db/ and removing the folder /var/lib/dhcpcd.

Don't ask me why this would trip up dhclient or dhcpcd. Hope this helps someone.
