man vsftpd

The command says it all.

check out /etc/vsftpd.conf it's well documented. it also depends on the purpose: do you want to use it inside a local network or over the internet?

Doesn't the wiki entry answer your question? The title doesn't tell what kind of help your asking for. To understand the bits and pieces you at least have to try making use of the wiki first, and then if you encounter a specific issue ask about that.

Re: how to set up a vsftpd server from zero

I was able to set up vsftpd by relying completely on its man page and online documentation. I'm sure you can do the same too smile.

Since this is exquisitely documented and you can easily find it yourself if you make some effort, I'm closing this topic.
