Fonts

There any font meta-packages out there guys? besides the MS fonts, Only asking because I happened to open up open office word the other day, and noticed that I could prob count the number of fonts installed within a couple seconds. I do random work here and there for friends and family, and thought about just copying over a lot of fonts from ubuntu / windows into Arch, but I first wanted to check for meta packages. One font that came to mind in particular was the vladimir script font.

Again, No probs with just copying them over, but I wanted to check witht he community that was actually just the best way to do it.

It doesn't matter how much training you have. A broken rib is still a broken rib.

Re: Fonts

pacman -Ss font

You could also have a look at this:

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Font_Configuration

or google and install manually.

Re: Fonts

Not every fonts that works in Windows will work on Linux.

TeXLive has loads of fonts but I don't know if you know how to use them.

They are bound to (La)TeX, i.e. DVI-bound display. TeX fonts use their own description system, see for instance here which is not directly compatible with TrueType and Type 1 fonts.

To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

That's right but

I have no idea what OP does with those fonts, so TeXLive may suit him / her just fine.

And FathisAeril, please choose a more informative topic title.
