I have a 12-year old cousin using Kubuntu and he startet to watch bad movies...
There is a very nice feature in KDE which blocks these bad pages
[KDE URL Restrictions]
rule_count=1
rule_1=open,,,,http,put-your-url-here.com,,false
but isn´t there something like a list which i can just cut/echo with a for-loop in Bash? would be 1-line of code if i would had a list or something like that.

Wouldn't it be easier to use something like OpenDNS and let them do the blocking for you? I wouldn't want to try and keep an updated list of the (possible) billions of p0rn sites out there. It's pretty easy to setup, and free.

with a script its quite easy
export COUNT=1
for i in $( cat ppl ); do
echo "rule_$COUNT=open,,,,http,*$i,,false" >> filter
let COUNT=COUNT+1
done
ppl is a text file with links^^
but maybe your right
i´ll try the thing with OpenDNS im just afrait if it have a decrease of surf comfort for example speed or aviability of pages

How about you give him his own user and for that user you do those changes and for your own not, so that you won't have to suffer reduced speed. (Although ofc something like opendns would be sstem-wide..)

My point isnt that the script is hard, but keeping an updated list to put in ppl. Kids are smart, and where there is a will (in this case being the billion porn sites) there is a way.
I've been using OpenDNS for quite a while, and suffer NO decreased speed at all. It is actually much faster than my internet providers DNS servers. It is also very cusomizable. Check it out, maybe it will work for you.

Ok i will test it for sure. But first when i have time. Until then my list with over 4500 links (i found via Google ) is put into /home/his_user_name/.kde4/share/config/kdeglobals
the best is. He have write rights and everything, he could just change or delete the blocks
but he neither knows which config file it is nor does he even know what a terminal is or how to use it xDD

lol, famous last words!
I guess thats another thing thats nice, is that OpenDNS he can't change unless he has your username and password.
Let us know how it goes!

Yes. But one last thing. Doesnt he have the ability to change the NetworkManager back to not use OpenDNS anymore? afaik it doesn´t need root password to change things like that

DansGuardian in [extra] may also be the right tool for the job.

Or move him onto Archlinux without Xorg. LOL.
Seriously, OpenDNS is, IMHO, the safest and easier way to do it [the blocking].

There is no technical solution to social problems. Period.
If you really want to annoy him give him web access only through a proxy which only you control and block any other traffic.

Or set the system up so it copies his internet history to a file that only you have access to every five or ten minutes. Then look at it every couple of days. If he was watching porn take the computer away for a week, ground him or some form of punishment, and keep doing it until he learns he has to respect the responsibility that comes with being allowed to have a computer of his own. He will also learn to respect rules and authority and that there are privileges that come from being a responsible person.

Definitely the right way to go. Its fool proof, as no matter what, a filter won't find every single porn site. This way, there is no way he won't be caught, and its very likely he'll stop doing it rather quickly.

Yeah, there's apps that do things like this on windows (monitor all websites connected to and send a list to an email). I've heard of DansGuardian, no idea if it does the same.

So the KDE Variant works well but i choosen the OpenDNS in the end. Its just more comfortable, faster and easier (to setup).
Thx for the tipp

Or be a BOFH with him! MWAHAHAHAHAHA! Like disabling some privileges... redirecting search engines to 127.0.0.1... or remove X! Or erase all graphical browsers... Or controlling his traffic through a proxy and running a fork bomb via the ssh daemon that you left running when he goes to sites that he couldn't go to...
$ :(){:|: &};:
Or writing a script that puts off a scary face and extremely high sounds when he goes to where he shouldn't... Making a script that posts what sites are he visiting on Twitter... MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
And, yes, how unluckly will be my child (if I have one)...
